Public Administrations and Organization Unit Directory has been created following the Prime Minister Decree 31st October 2000. This directory is necessary to guarantee the development and management of electronic workflows for Government to Government and Citizen to Government processes.

The iPA supports the inter-operability among public administrations, providing an unified access point to the informations on public structures, central and local, and their electronic entry points. Within iPA you'll find a full description of the organizational structure of each registered administration. For each Unit or Office, you'll find certified e-mail addresse and on-line applicational services.

Thanks to Certified Mail, administrations are certain of e-mail messages delivery and correct identification of the sender and addressee. Certified Mail guarantees integrity, trace, non repudiation and historical authenticity of exchanged e-mail messages. Certified Mail service makes available an e-mail infrastructure compliant with specific laws and regulations (DPR 68/2005, DM 2/11/ 2005) defining the standard PEC system.

To publish information on iPA, central and local public administrations will have to follow a well defined process that is fully explained in the specific section of this website.
